Our Guide to Linens for the Most Common Event Table Sizes

Scroll down to see sizing FAQ and your linen size options for some of our most popular tables - both standard height and hightop - in round, square, rectangular, and other shapes.

How do I know what size linen I need?

Linen sizing is based on your table size, table shape, and how much drop you want. Floor-length linens provide a more formal look, while shorter drops feel more relaxed.

What is considered “floor-length”?

Floor-length typically means the linen reaches the floor or sits just above it. Exact drop may vary slightly depending on table height and top size.

What if my venue's tables are a little different than standard sizes?

That’s very common. Our sizing recommendations are based on typical tables, and small variations rarely affect the overall look. You can speak with an event specialist to determine the best size for your tables based on the measurements.

Do sweetheart or specialty tables need different sizing?

Often, yes. Sweetheart tables, farm tables, and custom tables may require different linen sizes or styling approaches.

What about cocktail tables?

Cocktail tables can be styled with floor-length linens for a formal look or shorter linens for a modern or casual feel. You can also do a longer linen and add a sash to create an hourglass look.

Can different table sizes be used in the same event?

Yes. Most events use a mix of table sizes, and linens are selected accordingly to keep the overall look cohesive.

How to Determine Your Perfect Table Linen Size

Round

Width + Drop + Drop

Square or Rectangle

(Width + Drop + Drop) x (Length + Drop + Drop)

To easily calculate the linen size you need, add together the table width and the drop you would like to see on each side.

For example, say you want a floor length table linen for a 48" round table that is standard (30") height.  You would add 48 + 30 + 30 to determine that you need a 108" round linen.
